General Approach

Seattle Therapist

I have a profound belief that positive change is possible. Entering therapy means that you have decided to step onto the path towards change and start walking. You don't have to know where you'll end up. You don't have to know how to get there. We will discover that together. I would be honored to walk beside you and be a part of your journey.

While I offer specific techniques such as Lifespan Integration and Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy, psychotherapy isn't just about technique. It's based in science, but it's also part intuition, part mystery, and part art. It's a journey that takes place within a safe relationship that offers support and guidance.

My style is warm, humorous and compassionate, but also very focused. I'm not a therapist who simply listens and asks you how you feel. My job is to ask the kind of questions that get you thinking in new ways, to be gentle when you need emotional support, and to challenge you when you need help to get moving. We will frequently review your goals and will alter course if the change you want isn't happening. While over 20 years as a therapist has made me good at identifying patterns and getting people through blocks to progress, I know that each person who comes to see me is an individual. I work to stay curious and open, to be flexible in both my assessment and my approach.

I work with women and men as well as adolescents, and with people of any sexual orientation. While the issues I work with most are Trauma/PTSD, Depression and Anxiety, I also have experience working with relationship issues, parenting and blended family issues and ADHD/ADD.

Please contact me at 206-228-6829 or with any questions or to schedule an appointment. I look forward to hearing from you. My therapy office is in North Seattle, conveniently located near I-5.
